Pfft, Paula Poundstone doesn't count here. Her "off-color" humor is more like "off-color but I'm basically acknowledging what I'm saying is against my liberal beliefs by my obviously intentionally glib manner of speaking" humor.

Hmmm... my case is an aberration then, as I am a queer version of a Type 1 personality who became the late childhood best friend of another queer guy and still are best friends with him.

...And yes, my first sexual experiment was with him... but we tend to not talk about nor think about it...

as a portland queer i never attended a short shorts party. but oh, how I wish I had! perhaps this short falling was made up for by attending homo-areobics sunday mornings, a short shorts safe space for the hung-over where jumping around was encouraged.
our fearless leader says it all

That is very true!!! We queers definitely have a similar style of creativity, free thought/will, and fearlessness! Like any other "class" of people we tend to look alike and attract our own types! Unfortunately I don't see many other people with my top heavy 80s cut, av ant garde makeup, or funky 80s style. Very unfortunate! It sadly seems that most of the people these days seem to only dress as to what's 'in' instead of practicing creativity and personal expression! I never knew that what I preferred to wear was even considered "80s"! haha People certainly are an interesting species to study! One person on their own is complex enough!
